Introduction:
It is very important to know the lives of early humans in order to effectively understand the present human life. So today we can study about the early life of human beings and its features.
Activity 1:
Observe the video keenly and find out the important cave paintings and its peculiarities.
Consolidation:
• Most pictures were animals.
• Different colours were used.
Different colours were used in cave paintings. Most pictures were the animals like horse, deer, lion, leopard, bear etc.
Activity 2:
• Now let us move to the major fields in which paleolithic man attained progress.

Stone statuettes were made; Human figure made from clay shows the progress in sculpture. Pictures were drawn on the bones and horns of animals, caves and rocs show the progress in painting. Ornaments made by ivory, bones, stones and shells, flute like wind instrument of bones were the progress in handicraft.
Activity 3:
• With the help of the map identify the present states where these paleolithic sites are situated.

Bhimbedka situated in Madhya Pradesh, Narmada valley in Gujarat, Nagarjunakonda in Karnataka.
Conclusion:
This part of the chapter emphasises about paleolithic age and its features and sites. Paleolithic age is considered as old stone age.
